Roofing Options

Asphalt Shingles

  • Likely the most recognizable form of roofing, asphalt shingles are used for many reasons. These shingles offer a wide array of color choices while maintaining durability and affordability. An asphalt roof is rated to last from 12-30 years but that range can depend on the quality of material used as well as environmental factors.

Flat Roofing

  • A flat roof features a pitch of 10 degrees so as to maintain a route for rainwater to drain. Given this design, a flat roof can be outfitted with a variety of options. These options include tar/gravel, vinyl, rubber (TPO), PVC, and modified bitumen. In many cases, PVC roofing is the method of choice for a flat roof as it is offers low maintenance and resistance to impact damage and cracking. In addition, both PVC and TPO offer energy savings due to their reflective white color. Modified bitumen is considered to be the more budget friendly option. Metal Roofing

  • Metal roofing can be used with both residential and commercial roofs and offers the longest lifespan as it can last up to 60 or even 70 years. However, metal roofing can be 2-3x the cost of other methods of roofing. This extra expense can be explained by the durability, longevity, energy efficiency, and safety from the elements. Here in the Midwest, a metal roof gives resistance towards snow buildup as the snow will often slide down the surface. In addition, metal roofs are resistant to hail damage and the possibility of spark ignition from lightening. When choosing a metal roof, there are several color options to look at.

Siding Options

Vinyl Siding

  • One of the most popular siding materials for both replacement and new construction is vinyl. Vinyl siding comes in an array of large variety of color options. Upon proper installation, vinyl siding allows for durability and can have a lifespan of 20-30 years. In addition, vinyl siding allows for both a horizontal and vertical design to best fit your ideal exterior.
  • In keeping up with the times, energy efficient Insulated Vinyl Siding offers a great opportunity to reduce monthly energy costs. Insulated vinyl siding features built in insulation within the panel ridge. This translates to energy savings and increased durability of the product.

LP SmartSide

This method of siding is ideal for homes in areas with high winds and resists fungal decay and termites. LP SmartSide offers an industry leading 5-Year, 100% labor and material replacement and 50-Year prorated material replacement warranty. Another great aspect of this siding is that it offers endless color options. Appearance options continue with the products coming in lap siding, panels, shingles, shakes, and vertical siding.

Hardie Siding

  • Hardie Siding is formulated from a combination of cement and cellulose fibers making it a highly durable and high quality control. The combination of materials makes this form of siding impervious to termites while being fire and rot proof. Similar to LP SmartSide, Hardie Siding is rated to withstand high wind. Here in the Midwest, one of the large draws is it's resistance to hail damage. Hardie siding products can come in the form of shingle, plank, and panel siding offering an array of appearance options. Hardie siding offers a 30 year non-prorated warranty, one of the best warranties in the industry.
